We discovered the Comandante C40 MkIII manual coffee grinder at the Global Coffee Expo in Seattle. After seeing that it could legitimately grind coffee fine enough for Turkish and espresso, and coarse enough for French press, we decided we must have it to offer to our customers.

The burr set was developed in Germany specifically for manual grinding, requiring a lower force to turn and a higher throughput of beans per revolution. Operating the Comandante is a joy. The turned oak knob on the handle feels so perfect in the hand that you don't even mind having to grind the coffee manually.

The wood veneer is for more than aesthetics - it provides a grippy surface to hold onto, unlike other slick metal hand grinders. The clear plastic lid and glass jar help you monitor your progress, as well as visually checking the grind size.

I've been using the Comandante as my exclusive grinding method for months now, and couldn't be happier with it. It has turned my morning coffee ritual into an absolute joy, and I can't wait to hear how our customers like using them as well.
